内容記述 | The main purpose of this paper is to point out some problems of introducing the English lexicon to elementary school children in an EFL situation, and to show a plausible approach to settling those problems. Three problems are identified as follows; (1) the "letter abilities" of each child should be rated to a plausible scale; (2) the proper time to begin teaching English letters to children needs to be determined; (3) children cannot be isolated from English letters. This paper will review the important criteria for rating the "letter abilities" of children, and report on the outcomes of studies based on these criteria. | |||||
