 note = {The main purpose of this paper is to point out some problems of introducing the English lexicon to elementary school children in an EFL situation, and to show a plausible approach to settling those problems. Three problems are identified as follows; (1) the "letter abilities" of each child should be rated to a plausible scale; (2) the proper time to begin teaching English letters to children needs to be determined; (3) children cannot be isolated from English letters.
