| 内容記述 | This paper deals with a comparatively abstract thesis of thoughtways: literate culture vs oral culture; "scientific" thinking vs "non-scientific" thinking which we imagine might be superior in reasoning. To our modern eyes, it seems that we have a tendency to rely on a so-called scientific way of thinking so as to seek "truth" from facts. Our standing point of this study, however, is guided by the idea that we might not recognize the superiority and flexibility in "rational" thinking which would stem from an oral way of expressing and thinking. We attempt to shine a glaring light on an oral mode of thinking, referring to selected texts such as Michel de Certeau, Ivan Illich, Walter J. Ong, Mikhail Mikhailovich Bakhtin which would focus on an issue about how to read: loud reading or silent reading. | |||||||||||
