In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, study abroad and free international exchange activities with other countries continue to be suspended globally. With the proportion of infected students increasing exponentially this year in Thailand, Prince of Songkla University (PSU) has completely switched to online classes. In order to maintain and improve the cross-cultural understanding and motivation of students to learn foreign languages, both in Thailand and Japan, the authors conducted an online international exchange program in conjunction with Gifu City Women's College (GCWC). This study examines the challenges of this program and the enthusiasm of PSU and GCWC students to learn about cross-cultural understanding, foreign languages, and culture based on the specifics of the program and the results of a questionnaire survey. |
