| 内容記述 | We always have to reflect on our daily practice of ‘thinking’, because we tend to get into patterned thought, a particular way of thinking which can be characterized by dominant discourses. In this paper, we attempt to invert the dichotomy of ‘philosophy / rhetoric’, which has been deep-rooted concept since the days of Plato. Spotlighting an aural aspect of words will lead us to foreground rhetoric as philosophy. Comparing and contrasting discourses dealing with ambivalent faces of aural practices such as listening to what one says, we explore the possibility of rhetoric as the core of our intelligence, ‘ingenium’, which means human intellect that enables us to connect something to something else and results in our reasonable judgment in our complicated world. | |||||||||||
