This paper aims to investigate the actual conditions of apparel industry of Gifu area, especially in the introduction of information technology and the development of apparel products. As for the introduction of IT, it is important to know how apparel companies use and how progress IT in the inter-net society in this area. We asked the apparel companies which locates in station front area of Gifu Station about the exist of E-mail, home page and introduction for management of production processes. Another aspect as to the development of apparel product, we asked them how to manage and produce new design, materials and claims against the products.We send the investigation paper to 565 apparel companies in station front area of Gifu City in the beginning of March 2005. 311 (55.0%) apparel companies answered. We summed up their data and concluded as follows: 1) an introduction of IT depends on the size of company, 2) it is very important for Gifu to think how to recover its vitality based on the design ability. |
