In this study, we evaluated the effects of the nutrition education using a stage of behavior modification model for the dietary habits of athletes. A dietary survey and nutritional education were conducted on 21 male American football players. The amounts of energy and each nutrient, which they took, were calculated before and after this study. Increases in scales for stage of behavior modification were observed in 57% of subject, and all subject expressed an interest in nutrition intake. It is thought that the nutrition education is very important for athletes. |
