This paper argues the significance and issues to be considered in the Short-term Study Abroad Program, analyzing the results of the students' questionnaire surveys undertaken before and after the program. The first part presents the history and outline of this program. The second part discusses the questionnaire survey results, showing that this program meets students' expectations concerning experience and skill acquisition, while the results reveal the necessity of pre/post sessions. This paper provides evidence that the Short-term Study Abroad Program takes a very significant part in the curriculum of both the Department of English and the Department of Cross Cultural Studies, concluding with suggestions, such as incorporating pre/post sessions and opportunities to talk with people working abroad, to the future development of the program. |
