内容記述 | Since the beginning of China's open-door policy in 1978, there have been tremendous changes inside China. The changes in the image of women can be regarded as one of the most astonishing one. This study examines the changes of Chinese women's images influenced by the impact of mass media in the context of China's modernization. Through a close examination into the changes round 2003, the study finds that the craze of Chinese women for beauty, while partially reflecting the decline of state control over people's everyday lives, has been closely linked with the impact of mass media, especially with that of television. | |||||||||||
