Though Gifu City Women's College has not offered education to students only, but continued to join Nagaragawa University, the extension lecture presented by Gifu City, it is time to have second thought about the extension of the university to the regional community under current social circumstances, such as declining birthrate and aging population and so on. This paper consists of two parts. The former discusses about the meaning of extension lecture on the basis of similar lectures in other institutes.
