The Emperor and Empress were present at this opening ceremony on that day. To carry out this project, our college offered cooperation as follows. To add dramatic effect to the ceremony, 1,500 handkerchiefs dyed with indigo were shaken by the people of Gifu Pref. Yamarin dyeing classes had been held for the people of Gifu Pref.. About 500 handkerchiefs were dyed with indigo in each class. Three classes had been held in April and May. The handkerchiefs had been dyed into three different colors; deep blue, light blue and blue between deep and light. All the participants shook the handkerchiefs dyed with indigo at the opening ceremony on June 13 and their performance gave the dramatic effect to the ceremony. Later, the testimonial in honor was given to our college by the chairman of this convention, who is Gifu Pref. Governor.
